  It would be easy in Phoenix, to get overwhelmed with the sheer number of Native American historic sites. Don't let that dissuade you from making this trip; it's truly unusual and worth the trip. You get a 2-fer with this visit: a remarkable preserved cliff dwelling AND a gorgeous geological feature (the cave) that frankly would have been an interesting site by itself. The picnic area is very nice so bring lunch. Great staff. Lost a star because you can't go to the upper dwelling except with a ranger tour, only on weekends. I understand if you want to keep us out of the upper house without a guide, but make it so we can at least take the hike and view it if we want.
